What We See in Each Other
Self love and compassion can change the way we see both ourselves and the people around us.
Loving yourself does not mean believing you are better than anyone else.
Perhaps true self-love makes it easier to recognize something familiar in the people around us.
We all know what it feels like to want to be understood. To carry hurt we don’t always show. To make mistakes. To hope for another chance.
When we remember our own struggles, it can become easier to meet someone else’s with compassion.
And when we learn to accept the imperfect parts of ourselves, we may become a little less quick to judge those same imperfections in someone else.
Maybe we have more in common than we realize.
When we remember that everyone is carrying experiences we may not fully understand, it can become easier to see beyond our own perspective. You may also enjoy reading Seeing More Than One Side.
Today’s Reminder:

The more gently we learn to see ourselves, the more gently we may begin to see each other.
