Some days, something happens and it hurts more than you expected. You might even wonder why it bothers you so much.
Maybe it has less to do with what’s happening today and more to do with something you’ve been carrying for a long time.
I’ve been thinking about this lately, and I wonder how often we believe we’ve moved past something, only to realize it still affects us in ways we hadn’t noticed.
We’ve all been through things that leave a mark. And I’ve learned that just because we don’t think about those experiences every day doesn’t mean they’ve stopped affecting us.
But just because something still hurts doesn’t mean you haven’t grown or moved forward. Sometimes, we just need to take a moment and understand why it affects us the way it does.
A little reminder for today: Just because something hurt you in the past doesn’t mean it has to keep hurting you in the same way today. Give yourself a little grace. We’re all still learning along the way.
