I wanted something creamy and sweet that would satisfy my ice cream craving, but I also wanted to get some protein in without turning dessert into something that tasted like a protein shake. So I pulled out my Ninja Creami #ad and got to work.
This did it.
The base is made with Greek yogurt, Fairlife milk, vanilla protein powder, and just a little sugar-free cheesecake pudding mix to help give it that creamy ice cream texture. I added some monk fruit for sweetness and vanilla because, well… vanilla makes everything better.
Then came the best part: those little fresh Maine blueberries.
I picked up these blueberries from Williams Family Farms in Clifton, Maine, and they were so fresh and sweet. There’s just something about getting blueberries straight from a Maine farm in the summer that makes everything taste better.
They’re those tiny little blueberries—not the big ones you usually find at the grocery store—and they were absolutely perfect in this ice cream.
And the whole pint has 50.5 grams of protein.
That’s a pretty good dessert in my book.
What You'll Need
Ice Cream Base
- 1 cup Fage 0% Plain Greek Yogurt
- ½ cup Fairlife Fat-Free Milk
- 1 packet Clean Simple Vanilla Protein Powder #ad — 20 grams of protein
- 1 tablespoon sugar-free Cheesecake Instant Pudding Mix
- ½–1 tablespoon Monk Fruit Sweetener #ad, to taste
- 1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract #ad
For the Mix-In
- ¼ cup fresh Maine blueberries
Let's Make It - Vanilla Blueberry Greek Yogurt Ninja CREAMi Ice Cream
Add the Greek yogurt, Fairlife milk, protein powder, cheesecake pudding mix, monk fruit sweetener, and vanilla to a bowl.
Now here’s something I learned while making this: don’t bother with the milk frother.
I tried it first, and it just wasn’t doing the job. The mixture is too thick, especially with the Greek yogurt and protein powder.
I grabbed my Immersion Blender #ad instead and blended everything really well. That worked perfectly and gave me a nice, completely smooth base.
So if you have an immersion blender, that’s what I’d recommend using for this recipe.
Once everything is smooth, give it a taste.
Here’s a little tip: You want it to taste just a little sweeter than you normally would because freezing takes some of that sweetness away.
Pour the mixture into your Ninja Creami Pint Container #ad.
Put the pint in the freezer on a level surface and let it freeze for at least 24 hours.
When you’re ready for ice cream, take it out of the freezer and process it on the Lite Ice Cream setting.
Now, don’t panic if you open it up and it looks a little crumbly after that first spin. That’s normal with a high-protein, low-fat recipe.
I took a butter knife and ran it around the entire inside edge of the container, then used a spoon to gently push the mixture down a little. After that, I simply pressed Re-Spin.
That’s all I needed to do to get it to that creamy, soft ice cream texture.
Then add your ¼ cup of fresh Maine blueberries and run the Mix-In cycle.
And that’s it.
Scoop it into a bowl, grab a spoon, and enjoy.
Once you’ve enjoyed your ice cream, don’t forget the cleanup. I’ve put together How I Clean My Ninja CREAMi NC501 with the cleaning routine I use after making my CREAMi recipes.
A Little About the Nutrition
The entire pint comes in at under 300 calories, with 50.5 grams of protein and approximately 10.5 grams of natural sugar.
And yes, blueberries do have protein—but not very much. They’re here because they’re delicious, not because we’re counting on them for our protein!
For me, this is what makes this recipe such a winner. It’s a creamy, satisfying dessert that gives me a serious protein boost without loading up on calories or added sugar.
The Protein Powder I Use
This is one of my favorite protein powders for Ninja Creami recipes.

Why I Love This One
I have to tell you something about me: ice cream is my thing.
I always tell folks, “If I know I’m dying, you’ll find me in Gifford’s Famous Ice Cream parking lot, trying every flavor they have!”
So when I say I love ice cream, I mean I really love ice cream.
That’s why I was so excited about this recipe. It doesn’t feel like I’m eating some “healthy version” of ice cream.
It just tastes like good vanilla blueberry ice cream.
And when I can have something that tastes like dessert while getting 50.5 grams of protein in the entire pint, that’s a win for me.
Sometimes healthy eating doesn’t have to mean giving up the things you love.
Sometimes it just means finding a better way to make them.
