Daily Encouragement

Do Your Part, Then Let Go

We have to make the phone call. Have the difficult conversation. Take the next step. Make the decision. Keep showing up for the things that matter to us.

But sometimes, we carry our effort too far.

We begin trying to control the outcome. We worry about what someone else will do. We replay every possibility in our minds and feel responsible for making everything turn out exactly the way we hope.

But there is a difference between doing your part and trying to carry everything.

You can do everything within your power without believing that everything is within your control.

Do what you can.

Give your best effort.

Be intentional with your choices.

And then let go of the things that were never yours to control in the first place.

Sometimes, we spend so much time waiting for certainty that we forget we can take the next step without knowing exactly how everything will turn out.

Today’s Reminder:

I will do what I can, let go of what I cannot control, and trust that I don’t have to carry everything alone.
